Shoot Many Robots is a hectic and hilarious side-scrolling shoot-em up game. You take control of a Hill Billy character that has no goals other than to shoot lots and lots of robots. Story walkthroughUpon booting up the game for the first time you're immediately placed in the tutorial level which shows you how to play. There's nothing particularly challenging about it, though if you're patient enough with it, you can grab Punch Many Bullets as soon as the Hummers are introduced.
Simply move about until they get into a pattern that has at least two of them shooting at you at roughly the same time, punch it back, and bam, enjoy having a different first achievement than other people. 3 guidesIf you don't get it there, don't worry about it. You'll have many, many, many, many other chances to punch bullets. After finishing the tutorial, you end up in your RV.
This is where you will be buying and changing your equipment, thanks to your wonderful magic bathroom. Do note that picking up equipment boxes in the levels does not automatically give you that equipment - it just makes it available to buy in the store. You'll also notice an option in the store/inventory screen for the option to press 'X' to 'Nut Up.' This lets you buy nuts (the game's currency) for Microsoft Points. Some of the items in the store will also have a 'Y' prompt allowing you to unlock them with Microsoft Points. This is not required. Everything in the game can be obtained in the game; there are no 'cash shop only' items.
They're simply there if you choose to take the shortcut and feel that $10 just isn't enough for this game.Once you're done looking at all the neat stuff you can't get (unless you want to buy the 9-Gallon Hat, as it's the only thing unlocked at the start), move to the far right towards the steering wheel and open the map. The only level available to you is Farm Town, which also serves to further hammer home some of the tutorials. Pay extra attention to punching back red bullets - it's a skill that will serve you well in future levels.
There are more than enough robots in the first level to net you your next (or first, depending) achievement. 2 guidesGrab what you want/can afford from your newly unlocked items, then move onto the next stage - Cliffs Survival. Survival missions work differently than the other missions in that you're in a small area, and robots just keep coming. You only have to pass the first wave to actually beat the stage and move on, though it's recommended to try and stick out the bonus waves as much as you can as it will net you more nuts and items. Continue on with the levels, shooting robots and collecting loot. Be on the lookout for the randomly-dropped Baby Carrier (a backpack item), the E.V.A.
Pack (also a backpack), and the Astronaut's Helmet (surprisingly enough, it's a helmet.) These three items are required for two achievements. When you find the Baby Carrier, throw it on and complete a level to obtain.
8 guidesKeep in mind that unlike every other item in the game, the Baby Carrier does not give you any bonuses whatsoever - it simply puts a baby on your back - so depending on what level you choose and how powerful your other equipment is, this could be tough.unless you just run through one of the first levels again, then it's a cakewalk. The other two items (E.V.A.
And Astronaut's Helmet) have to be worn together while you complete a mission. Doing so will make you float about quite gracefully, and also net you. 3 guidesIf you're having trouble finding those three items, remember the Baby Carrier drops most frequently in the first adventure, the helmet in the third, and the backpack in the 4th. With those two out of the way, the rest of the achievements will come pretty naturally through play. There are more than enough levels that you do not need to worry about 5-starring them all (unless you plan on getting into Insane mode later on for some really sweet loot) as there are 105 possible stars on Normal and you only need 75 to get. 1 guideBy this point you should be sufficiently powerful enough to hold your own online with people, so you can get started on the multiplayer achievements.
You can use Quick Matches to get most of these done, as the game is still pretty new and there's a decent amount of people playing it, though I would recommend playing with friends because you'll need at least one person on your friend's list for one of these. Hit 'Play Game' from the Main Menu, then in the Lobby screen press 'X' to invite someone on your friend's list to play with you. As soon as they jump in the lobby, you'll receive.
